Shusole Zara Black Wedge Boots

Anyone who knows me knows I love platform boots. Since I was a child, seeing them in stores and my favourite pair of boots ever being some chunky, black platform boots, my love for them has been undying.
There are a pair of Demonia boots that I've loved for a long time, but they are pretty damn pricey and their sizing is a little weird, so I've put off ever buying them in case they were wasted money.
I came across these on an Etsy page and they looked very similar to the boots I wanted. I scoured eBay for a little while and then I found them!

I ordered these late Saturday evening, They were sent by Royal Mail's 48 hour service and came safely on Wednesday.

The box was a little beat up, but that doesn't matter. Everything inside was safely packaged.

As you can see, plenty of foam to keep the shoes safe, each shoe wrapped in their own little bag to keep them safe.

The buckles were wrapped up to keep them safe and prevent them scratching.

The shoes are very much like Demonias, just not real leather. I'm pretty sure that the wedge is made of the same foam material that most platform boots seem to be made of. They have a separate layer on the sole to keep the foam from fraying or getting ruined. I have a pair of Pleasers that lack this layer, and they seem like they would get ruined very easily.

All in all, these shoes are ace. They look like they'll be sturdy enough to withstand plenty of use and walking about, and for the money, they're great quality. I wore them for about 4/5 hours around the house today, and they're very hard on the soles, so make sure you have some nice, cushion-y insoles to make sure you can stay comfortable in them for longer! They didn't need much breaking in, and after a couple more uses, they should be perfect.
They are very high at about 5.5", but they're very easy to walk in, particularly if you are used to platform boots, and they feel very sturdy. I'm looking forward to wearing them out

Monster High Draculocker Review

Merry Christmas to me!!

I finally got myself a Draculocker!

One of the reasons I love this set so much is because it's in the shape of a coffin. When I was younger, stomping around in my black boots and striped socks, I had a coffin-shaped pleather bag and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I would have died for Mattel to bring something out like this when they had the Bratz: Pretty 'n' Punk or Rock Angelz lines. (Now those were the days!)

The shiny coating picks up dust like something else >___<

The inside of the case is well stocked and super duper cute! The background is glued onto the back on the case, though I'd imagine if you really wanted it to, it would come out rather easily. It's themed to Draculaura, with nice little touches like pictures of her friends and Clawd, candles, plenty of bat-related things and of course, her fear-leading essentials. If you've seen the Draculocker episode, it's a really great little homage to that.
There's plenty of space to store everything, and the drawers are a really nice touch. The little earrings and hangers look like they could go missing in the first few hours. There's even little extra spaces to hang clothes!

On the other side, where Draculaura's wardrobe and her hanging space are, the background resembles the plush inside of a coffin, just in a very un-traditional hot pink! I love the fact that they make her hang like a vampire. It's such a nice touch.
She has plenty of space to store all of her clothes, shoes and bags that come with the set, but, if you love collecting fashion packs, or changing your dolls clothes, there's loads of room to store and display much more!
She comes with an umbrella and Count Fabulous like in her basic set, 3 bags, 3 pairs of shoes, two dress/tops, a pair of trousers, 2 pairs of earrings, a pair of sunglasses and 10 hangers for all her clothes.
The inside and her chair needs a little assembly, but it's a simple 'putting x into y' affair.

The doll herself is gorgeous. I never much liked Monster High dolls when I first saw them. I thought they were a bit.. gaudy? I loved the idea, and I wish they were around when I was younger, but they didn't do much for older me. I thought Ever After High were cuter.
Eventually though, I started getting sucked into Monster High and found a few that I like. Spectra Vondergeist, Elissabat, and Clawdeen Wolf. I wanted to love Draculaura too, but I just couldn't. The teeth they painted on her made her look goofy, and I was just turned off of her. However, the moment I saw this Draculaura, I was in love!!

She looks more mature than her other versions, with her pointier chin and smaller eyes, lack of bangs, and no bright, overdone make up. Looking very much 1600, instead of 1599!
I love the fact that she is so simple, yet so beautiful. I wish I looked like her. (Maybe I should put black lipstick on my shopping list....)

The glitter on her eyelids is pink. I'm not sure if that's just a thing with the camera not picking things up, but all of the other Draculauras I've seen have looked like they have silver/black glitter. Also, I know that when Nikki of Namanthasuxx reviewed hers, her doll's zipper earrings were also the same pink plastic as her shoes and umbrella, and I remember someone also saying that their doll had silver ones. These are different again, and are white. (Which I think looks far nicer!)

All in all, I'm so happy I got this playset, and for younger children, it looks like it will be hours of fun. I'll admit that I only really wanted this set for the Draculaura, but it's so, so cute and packed with lots of stuff that I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it! I got it on offer from Smyths Toys for £25.99 and it's an absolute steal. If you're on the fence about it, go for it! I'm sure you'll fall in love like I have☆

It's been a while.

Things happen.

I completely forgot about this blog.

Haah.

Maybe I should try and get back into it again?

I'm moving into a new house at the end of December/early January, so I feel like documenting the changes would be a fun thing to look back on, especially because I didn't get to do it in the house we just moved out of, and it would be nice to have that to remember things by.

I also like decorating and designing, so having somewhere to put ideas and my musings would be cool..

Decisions, decisions.

Trying to get my bed into my room will be difficult. Hahaha..

>>>>>>

I do however, have some fun ideas for my room. Namely, making a cloud light to replace that awfully sad looking light already there, and hanging string lights across the beams to simulate clouds, or something to that effect? I also have drawers to go either side of my bed that will need to be painted to match.

I'm trying to work out what to do with the window. I'm not much a fan of blinds or curtains, so I'm considering buying some frosted film to put over the bottom window and leaving the top window bare. I think it's going to end up an experiment and seeing which works best. It's a really low window, so there might be an issue of still being able to see into my room. I want to have a load of candles in my window because it's lovely and deep, so obviously curtains or blinds would put a stop to that rather quickly. Haha.

I also have another exciting event planned for 2015. VIP tickets for Kamijo's 20th anniversary tour! I'm so excited. Versailles were my favourite visual kei band from about 2010 to their hiatus so I couldn't turn down the opportunity to see him. One of my amazing, amazing best friends bought my ticket as an xmas present.
I can't wait

Animal Crossing 3DSXL bundle and St Ives trip!

After months of waiting (no like seriously I have been waiting since the bundle was announced in Japan) I finally received my Animal Crossing New Leaf bundle~~

I had a tough night sleeping, so I was pretty much wide awake when the delivery guy came and well, there was no sleeping after that hahaha

So, I ripped open the package like no tomorrow and voila!

Because I pre-ordered the bundle from GAME, I got the promotional Isabelle/Shizue figurine. She's so tiny, and so cute. I adore Isabelle already and she jingles when she runs and it's the cutest thing ever.

And in all it's glory, the 3DSXL. It's so pretty and smart-looking. I adore it.

So, I went to St ives on Thursday last week, for the first time in 2 years. It felt so amazing to be back. I've been going to St ives since I was about 2 months old and it just felt like home again. We are hoping to move out of Newquay, and move into St Ives or Hayle, Carbis Bay, Lelant etc. and I had a job interview today with a bear shop. Totally nervous, horribly nervous, in fact, but they were friendly and very polite, so whew. I can only wait and see.

Just look how gorgeous it is. Crystal clear water, gorgeous architecture, beautiful streets. THIS is what Cornwall is about. Not getting so drunk you pass out on the beach and damaging your liver at the age if about 15. It's such a gorgeous place, my favourite place on earth, probably. I do hope making a life there will be worth the 12 or so years of waiting to move to Cornwall.

See you.

BJD tights

My package arrived quicker than I expected!

So yes, this was my last package to arrive, I bought them last Thursday, and considering they came from Taiwan, they came very quickly imo! Again, it was free postage. Always a lovely treat. I bought them from Refuse to be Usual on eBay and they were wonderful.

They come very nicely packaged, and give you the min-max hip sizes and recommended heights for the tights. Not that I have to worry much though.
Also, check out the awesome engrish on them. "Tattoo to Baotou skin stockings, tattoos can be modified leg line. More slender legs and thin, add a sense of fashion." Not quite sure what that really means. Haha.

They also have a print on the back, similar to real ball joint dolls with the string slot in the back of the ball joint. It's simple but I love the effect!

On my legs, the pattern shows up really well and is actually quite effective. They're sort of hard to position correctly, but it's all down to little movements and little adjustments here and there. The tights, to me, feel quite strong and durable. I've broken two pairs of tights from internacionale within about 5 minutes of having them after trying to position them correctly, but these don't appear to have snagged and they feel quite thick, so hopefully they'll last for a good while!

Today was a bit of a "Why can I not clothes?" day but ootd anyway!

Dress/Top - Etsy
Skirt - Peacocks (I think!)
Tights - Refuse to be Usual
Shoes - Blue Inc.

Until next time!

Essex Glam Triple Platform Creepers

I have a bit of an affinity with platform shoes. Any type, boots, shoes, trainers, whatever, I have to have it. I actually have a pair of white TUK creepers but they're hard to put with things, and they're flat, so they make my legs look really short and squat. Bleh. So, I bought these, in black, so I could have a pair of creepers I could just throw on haha.

I bought these from Allsole on eBay and they took about a day to arrive. Speedy and free shipping is always a freakin' bonus! I actually have a couple of Doc Marten-style boots I want to buy from them, so I might place another order once I have a bit more money.

So, onto the shoes!

The shoes are made from suede and the platforms from I suppose, a foam/plastic material? They seem like they'll hold up well to wear and tear. My platform converse have lasted a year and haven't worn down terribly, so I'm hoping these will be the same! They're also very light, which is perfect for stomping around town in. They didn't need much breaking in, perfect for me because I have a constant problem with shoes slipping off and causing blisters, and my TUK creepers are terrible for that, sadly.

I had another lazy day today, so just dressing light (my leopard shirt again whoops.)
T shirt - Urban Outiftters
Leggings - New Look
Shoes - Essex Glam
Hair dye - Schwarzkoph Live XXL in Red Berry Passion

I'm waiting on another package to arrive, so next time, I'll be showing off that!

Later!

Manic Panic Goth White cream to powder foundation + Kreepsville666 horns!

Decided to try and pick up this blog again. Name change, style change and content change!

So, without further ado, onto the blog post!

Got a pretty little package today, and inside:

First up, the Kreepsville666 horn clips:

Now, these have been popular for a while with all the 'kawaii' street fashion-y type blogs and I had to get myself a pair, 'cause I think they're pretty cute. When I first took them out of the packaging, I thought 'These are so heavy! How do they stay in my hair?!" But, aside from wriggling with my hair as it moves, they stayed pretty well. I have naturally rather thin hair, and I thin it with layers, too, so hair clips are a pain sometimes, but the little grips they have in the base of the horns help a ton with keeping them put. I think, if I were going out for the day/night I would probably use hairspray and/or some bobby pins just to really keep them secure!

Secondly, Manic Panic's Goth White cream to powder foundation:

I have a hard time finding foundations that aren't orange, or turn my face a horrible orange colour. I have pretty pale skin, but it has a very strong yellow undertone, to the point I almost look jaundiced in some lights, so just something to balance out my foundation is greatly appreciated.
Let me just say, you do not need a lot of this!! I ended up looking like I was wearing Kabuki make up to begin with. It does balance itself out after a while though.

As it first goes on, stark contrast. But it's a lovely and silky feeling though!

Once blended a bit more, it stays sort of this sheeny-white colour. It fades a little and sort of fits in more with your skin tone (or, I think it does!) My hands are a different colour to my face, but you get the idea.

If you have dry skin like I do, as it's a powder, it will emphasise the dry points on your face, so make sure to apply this with caution! Moisturiser is godsend! And of course, not rubbing too hard helps I find.  I also have very sensitive skin - even perfume free baby wipes and simple face products annoy it - but I felt no discomfort, burning or itching with it on, which is great, because I've had my face practically burned by some english BB cream I bought once.

From today
T-shirt from Urban Outfitters
Pants from Taobao/Jillpunkxloli

Shoes from eBay
Hair dye - Schwarzkopf Live colour XXL in Red Berry Passion

And now, I leave you with possibly my favourite track from the wonderful David Bowie. British TV has been wonderful today and played lots of Bowie-orientated documentaries and The man who fell to Earth, so I've been singing his music all day. Haha.
